Added value, incremental income: new opportunities for ATM operators

ATM operators today are facing down big expenses: ADA (still ongoing); EMV (pending); PCI (never-ending). They can name them all in their sleep — if they're getting any.

On top of these compliance expenses, factor in reduced exchange rates and rumblings from Washington about Durbin-style ATM fee caps.

In an International Payments Forum workshop, "Integrated Payments and the Vision of the ATM Industry," Donna Embry, senior vice president of strategic development at Payment Alliance International enumerated the emerging and newly arrived income opportunities for ATM operators.
