PADERBORN, Germany - Wincor Nixdorf announced in a news release that it has signed a contract with Britain's Co-operative Bank to provide end-to-end ATM service for the next seven years. The service includes ATM helpdesk, maintenance, cash and settlement operation, and transaction processing for the bank's 2,400 ATMs.
"We see the ATM channel as the most important channel for cash distribution for our customers and chose Wincor Nixdorf to run this service because we believe that they can provide industry leading availability and service for our customers," said Peter Sutcliffe, executive director of retail banking business management at Co-operative Bank.
"The addition of the transaction processing element of the service will really provide The Co-operative Bank with a full end-to-end offering and also give Wincor Nixdorf a major step change to the services we can offer," said John Ennis, director of Wincor U.K.'s Bbanking division.
The service will be managed from the Wincor Nixdorf Dartford.
Wincor will provide the ATM multivendor software via their industry leading Proclassic product and also manage all future technology development for the bank.
The Co-operative Bank is Wincor's first customer for transaction-processing services. The deal makes Wincor one of the largest European ATM operators and supports the company's strategic change from a system supplier to a comprehensive partner for all-round processes within bank branches and retail outlets. Services and solutions are expected to represent half Wincor's entire business before the end of the year.
