Wincor Nixdorf to supply ATMs, service for Cardpoint expansion in Germany

PADERBORN, Germany - Cardpoint, an independent ATM operator based in Britain, has awarded Wincor Nixdorf an order to supply ATMs for its new off-premises ATM network in Germany.

According to a news release, Cardpoint will install up to 1,000 Wincor Nixdorf ProCash 1500xe self-service systems  in pubs, restaurants, service stations, supermarkets and smaller retail premises across Germany over the next three years. Cardpoint has already installed its initial 50 machines in convenience locations around Germany.

Cardpoint has also contracted with Wincor Nixdorf to take responsibility for the operation of the entire estate of its ATMs installed in Germany. This service will include initial fault diagnosis by telephone, fault rectification, monitoring of self-service systems, software download, optimization of cash stocks held inside the machines and management of security couriers, plus booking and monitoring of these transactions.

Wincor Nixdorf has supplied more than 500 ATMs to Cardpoint in the UK and monitors a large portion of Cardpoint's estate of approximately 2,100 machines there, according to the release.

Cardpoint installs and operates ATMs, electronic mobile phone top-up terminals and credit and debit card terminals. The first publicly-listed independent ATM operator, the company floated on the London AIM market in 2002. Cardpoint now has subsidiaries in Germany and the Netherlands.
