Wincor Nixdorf AG has introduced a cash-recycling system with four additional banknote storage modules.
The CINEO 4060 4+4 is equipped with eight cassettes instead of five for sites with high-transaction volumes and locations where more than four banknote denominations will be dispensed. CINEO is an acronym for Cash Intelligence NEO or New.
The new model is for institutions that want to handle all of their cash transactions with up to eight denominations in one system. Normally, cash-recycling systems hold up to five cassettes and recycle four different denominations.
"The new system offers maximum capacity with a minimum footprint," said Stephan Okroy, product manager for Cash Systems at Wincor Nixdorf, which is based in Paderborn, Germany.
The CINEO 4+4, which has one input/output slot, offers improvement in cash management as well as enhanced security, intuitive operation, faster transaction processing and innovative banknote recognition technology, company officials said.
A number of European banks have successfully used CINEO 4+4 in some of their first projects, said Wincor Nixdorf officials. The manufacturer introduced its CINEO line of cash-recycling ATMs and Automated Tellers to reduce banks' cash-handling costs.
"Cash recycling systems are the fastest route to shortening the cash cycle, since they make the deposited banknotes available for dispensing after banknote validation," said Wincor Nixdorf officials.
Wincor Nixdorf is the world's second-largest ATM manufacturer based on annual shipments.
