June 22, 2008
PADERBORN, Germany — By integrating cash-recycling technology into the newest generation of self-checkout systems, Wincor Nixdorf International's new "Tower Line 150," part of the BEETLE/iSCAN product family, rounds out the company's portfolio of modular automated-checkout solutions.
According to a news release, the use of cash recycling means cash that is deposited in a POS system can be made available for dispensing after it has been authenticated by the system. This drastically reduces the high expense associated with counting, sorting and transporting cash. Furthermore, stores will be able to cut the volume of change held in storage for replenishment and the frequency of change replenishment.
The new Tower Line 150is operated by TPiSCAN, a hardware-independent software that controls all the modules incorporated in the self-checkout system.
