Wincor Nixdorf certified for ATM placement in Australia

PADERBORN, Germany — Wincor Nixdorf International says it is the first ATM vendor to have its ATMs certified under Australia's new Series 2 Consumer Electronic Clearing System Manual. As a certified vendor, Wincor Nixdorf can install its ATMs in IT networks in Australian financial institutions.

According to a news release, the certification, which is required by the Australian Payments Clearings Association, ensures that all ATM and EFT POS systems deployed in Australia meet established security standards, particularly the need to protect consumers' PINs.

"In the future, we will offer Australian financial institutions and ATM deployers our proven self-service technology in collaboration with local partners," said Ricardos Khoury, head of banking for Wincor Nixdorf in Asia-Pacific. "We see huge potential for our solutions in Australia."

Wincor Nixdorf says it is working closely with regulatory bodies, such as APCA, to tailor its products to meet local requirements.
