Wincor grows cash handling business with Brink's buy

Wincor will acquire the business, infrastructure and employees of Brink's Netherlands and integrate them with its existing subsidiary, SecurCash.

October 8, 2015

Wincor Nixdorf is expanding its cash management footprint in Europe with the takeover of Brink's operations in the Netherlands, the company said in a press release.

Wincor will acquire the business, infrastructure and employees of Brink's Netherlands and integrate them with its existing subsidiary, SecurCash, which specializes in cash management and cash logistics.

According to the release, this deal will produce the necessary capacity expansion for the provision of cash handling services to four major Netherlands banks.

Additionally, the company said, the expanded SecurCash subsidiary will benefit from synergies created by the broad customer base that Brink's Netherlands has among Dutch retailers.

For their part, bank and retail customers will profit from process optimization by a provider of hardware, software and services along the entire cash logistics chain, said Wincor Nixdorf President and CEO Eckard Heidloff.

"As a partner of banks and retailers, our cash handling services will be seamlessly linked to our IT services to operate systems and IT infrastructures, and add profitable services to our value chain end-to-end," he said.

Once the acquisition and integration are complete, Wincor Nixdorf will provide approximately 40 percent of cash management and logistics services in the Netherlands, the release said. The Dutch antitrust authority approved the acquisition last month.
