PADERBORN, Germany - Dutch banking giant ABN AMRO signed a multiyear deal with Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH to hand over operation of its more than 2,000 ATMs and other self-service terminals. The deal includes Internet-based system monitoring and control, software program updates and proactive early detection and rectification of faults.
According to a news release, Wincor also will oversee cash replenishment/supply for all of the bank's branches in the Netherlands.
For Wincor the deal is another step toward the overall strategic direction it has taken in becoming a full-service partner for branch-banking and store-retailing operations. Following the deal with ABN AMRO, Wincor's full-service/operations segment is expected to represent half of the company's overall business by the close of the quarter.
