The Wincor Nixdorf CINEO system has received an "Innovation in Technology and Transaction Banking Award 2013" for "Best ATM Technology" in a juried competition by The Banker magazine. The panel of judges included CIOs and CTOs from the world's 20 largest financial service providers, according to a news release from Wincor.
"Wincor Nixdorf has chalked up some trailblazing initiatives in ATMs," said a statement by Brian Caplen, editor of The Banker. "There have been great strides forward in terms of cash recycling, image recognition, security features and a mobile phone app that allows customers to withdraw cash without a bankcard. All these features help to propel banking into the 21st century. Congratulations to everyone at Wincor Nixdorf for winning The Banker's best provider of ATMs award."
Wincor Nixdorf introduced the CINEO system in 2010. At the core of the system is an intelligent end-to-end cassette that makes possible the direct exchange of cash at all points in the branch — including ATMs, cash recycling systems and automated teller safes — for a continuous cash cycle.
In addition, CINEO systems automatically provide extensive operating information that facilitates proactive system management and maximum availability.
Inaugurated 10 years ago, the innovation awards are produced by The Financial Times Ltd., publisher of the 86-year-old journal, The Banker, and acknowledge excellence in IT solutions for the banking industry.
