Under the terms of a newly minted strategic cooperation agreement, Wincor Nixdorf will enhance its portfolio of self-service products with coin components from Hess, a subsidiary of Gauselmann Group.
According to a press release, the arrangement will allow Wincor to offer its customers a more comprehensive range of cash process solutions from a single source.
In return, Hess will extend and complement its existing coin processing expertise by taking over the employees of the Wincor Nixdorf coin competence center in Linz, Austria.
Additionally, Wincor will outsource the production of coin deposit and coin recycling systems to Hess.
The cooperation agreement is part of the Wincor Nixdorf restructuring program, called Delta, which involves a readjustment of the company's hardware strategy. The goal is to form development partnerships and procure niche technologies on an OEM basis, thus reducing costs and driving a shift toward software and services.
"Hess Cash Systems' longstanding experience in coin processing and Wincor Nixdorf's considerable expertise in self-service systems form an outstanding basis for a successful partnership," said Wincor Nixdorf AG President and CEO Eckard Heidloff.
Hess Cash Systems and Wincor Nixdorf have already cooperated successfully for many years in the marketing of coin deposit systems and coin roll dispensing systems, the release said.
