Wells Fargo mobile and online banking services were disrupted today due to a systems issue that caused intermittent outages, according to a series of Twitter posts by the bank.
The bank said power was shut down at one of its facilities when smoke was detected following routine maintenance. One customer's tweet said that ATMs and credit cards also were also not working, however the bank did not specifically address these issues in its Twitter messages.
The bank apologized and said it was working to restore services. In an email statement to Mobile Payments Today, the bank said it will also reverse any fees incurred by customers as a result of the issues.
The outage was the second disruption for the bank within a week; customers reported similar problems on Feb. 1.
