Welch ATM, a St. Louis-area IAD, and Alexandria, Va.-based Pentagon Federal Credit Union have announced that PenFed-branded ATMs are now available in selected Rite Aid pharmacies throughout Maryland, Virginia and the Greater Washington D.C. area.
In addition to custom branding, Welch ATM is providing new, fully compliant ATM machines and complete management, the company said in a news release.
"Working with Rite Aid has given Welch ATM the ability to conveniently place over 2,000 ATMs throughout the United States," said Christy Nusz, director of financial sales for Welch ATM. "We are very excited to be providing PenFed with the opportunity to increase its brand awareness at these 167 Rite Aid pharmacies."
The ATM locations are available to both PenFed members and non-members. The machines are surcharge-free to PenFed members using PenFed cards; a $3.00 transaction fee will apply to non-members.
"We have thousands of members who live in these combined regions," said Kevyn Myers, executive vice president of card services with PenFed. "So it is a pleasure to announce that we are extending PenFed-branded ATM services in these convenient Rite Aid locations. This service arrangement with Welch allows us to more than double our fleet in an efficient, cost effective manner."
PenFed is one of the nation's largest CUs with $16 billion in assets and 1.2 million members.
