MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Wawa Food Markets, owner of 500 convenience stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, has signed a multi-year contract for credit and debit card payment processing with Concord EFS, Inc. (Nasdaq:CEFT).
Wawa will use Concord for card-based payment transaction authorization, data capture and settlement.
"Concord simplifies the payment part of our business by providing a single source for all payment-related services," said Steve Brown, manager of Credit Card Services at Wawa. "Equally important to our selection was Concord's long-time focus on the petroleum/convenience store industry, which is a good fit with Wawa's strategic direction. We like the collaborative approach that Concord takes to helping us explore new payment alternatives and trends."
