Washington government offices install Triton ATMs

PORTLAND, Ore. — Peregrin Financial Technologies, an ATM supplier in the Northwest United States, has installed ATMs at 13 Washington State Department of Licensing locations — at no cost to the state.
According to a news release, DOL offices only accept cash or checks for transactions conducted in person.
"Contrary to many past predictions, we will never be a cashless society, although we are moving in that direction," said Sam Bosch, president of Peregrin Financial Technologies. "Consumers are increasingly becoming more comfortable making payments of all kinds with plastic. The ATMs in the DOL offices are just an extension of what is now occurring daily in grocery stores, restaurants and department stores."

In 2007, Washington DOL management launched a pilot program with Peregrin to install Triton Systems ATMs in the lobbies of a few offices. The pilot program came about after customers and staff suggested that management place ATMs to allow customers a quick cash option. After successful customer feedback, the DOL contracted with Peregrin to roll out Triton RL2000 ATMs at 13 locations across the state.
"Our trial of ATMs in our offices is going really well and many customers seem to appreciate having a payment option close at hand when they arrive at our offices without enough cash or a checkbook," said DOL spokesman Brad Benfield.
