Visa and Allpoint Network, a unit of Cardtronics PLC, have partnered to help travelers from Southeast Asia visiting the United States obtain access to cash without paying ATM surcharge fees.
The agreement allows enrolled cardholders carrying Visa travel prepaid cards and debit cards issued by participating financial institutions to enjoy surcharge-free transactions at more than 40,000 Allpoint ATMs throughout the United States, according to a press release.
The partnership covers Visa travel prepaid cards and debit cards issued by 76 financial institutions in India, Bangladesh and Singapore.
"When people travel overseas, they want to be able to access their money securely, conveniently and without paying a lot of fees," Rob Walls, Visa head of consumer products and digital solutions for Asia-Pacific, said in the release. "This new agreement between Allpoint and the participating banks in Southeast Asia gives cardholders more choice for using their Visa prepaid or debit cards when they travel."
