Vietnam state bank to allow ATM fees

August 8, 2012

A policy change by the State Bank of Vietnam means that, for the first time, commercial banks and financial institutions will be permitted to collect fees on ATM transactions.

The SBV is requiring that commercial banks report their current ATM revenues and costs so that it can devise a chart of acceptable fees, said an article at Vietnam News. Commercial banks were to have submitted their proposed fee rates late last week.
