Venezuelan gov't regulates cash advances at ATMs in border towns

El Universal (Caracas, Venezuela): A joint resolution signed by the Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions in Venezuela and the Foreign Exchange Administration Commission, dated Jan. 16, 2009, establishes that in Brazilian and Columbian border cities with Venezuela, people can only withdraw U.S. $62.50 weekly, which is one fourth of the total amount authorized monthly by the government (U.S. $250.00).
