UL VIS 1.6.1 functional test suite gets OK from Visa

The UL Visa VIS functional test suite has been qualified for Visa VIS 1.6.1 and can now be used to support card type approval testing, according to a news release.

The test suite succeeds the Collis VSDC 1.5 Test Suite and is based on the Visa Smart Debit and Credit specification and features.

According to a press release, card vendors and issuers can use the tool to pretest their VSDC payment products prior to functional testing by Visa. The test suite can also be used by Visa-recognized laboratories for card type approvals.

The UL Visa VIS 1.6.1 functional test suite is part of the company's portfolio of payment card functional test suites. These test suites help with precertification of products, which ultimately can lead to faster certification by test laboratories or payment schemes.
