American Express has granted qualification of the UL EMV personalization validation tool, according to a UL press release.
The tool offers comprehensive testing capabilities for issuers, card personalization bureaus and card manufacturers who want to ensure validation for personalization of payment cards — both contact and contactless — and mobile payment applications.
The AmEx validation module for the UL EMV personalization validation tool enables testing for AEIPS and ExpressPay chip cards prior to sending the cards to American Express for certification.
The validation functionality checks the correctness of card application personalization and provides full, readable reports including explanations of errors and observations found.
With one click, the user can store, validate, retrieve, and examine all personalization data for EMV smart card applications — including chip, magnetic stripe and embossing data, as well as asymmetric keys and PIN, the company said.
