Ziraat Bank, Turkey's largest state bank, has purchased more than 1,000 recycling ATMs from GRGBanking, according to a press release. After the installation is completed, the bank's ATM fleet will expand from 2,900 to more than 4,400.
The cash recycling model, ATM H68N, has withdrawal, deposit, currency exchange, bill payment and coin exchange capabilities, among other services. The model is supposed to reduce cash replenishment frequency by about 50 percent, according to the company. The four-cassette design separates different denominations to reduce banknote counting and sorting time.
"H68N is the world's first ATM with note serial number recognition and tracking technologies and leading cash sorting system," said Kevin Luo, director of business development department, GRG.
The machines are also equipped with palm vein readers, biometric security technology that identifies customers by the vascular patterns of their palms.
