TSYS-certified Swipe solution promises turnkey EMV migration

NMI, a payments enablement technology company, has announced the certification of its EMV chip card solution, Swipe, on TSYS processing platforms. Users of Swipe software and EMV software development kit — in combination with smart terminals and TSYS certification — can rapidly deploy easy-to-use chip card solutions, a company press release said.

The ready-to-deploy solution provides a simplified approach to meet EMV requirements and transaction processing for the masses, while giving ISOs, VARs, ISVs and merchants a quick-to-market way to ease the EMV migration burden.

Swipe is designed for simple merchant operating environments that do not require complex or proprietary POS systems. According to the release, the semi-integrated SDK makes the transition to EMV straightforward, sparing integrators the need to expend effort and money on certification.

"Small to medium-size merchants can simply download the Swipe software application and plug in a smart payment terminal via USB to immediately begin processing EMV chip card transactions," said Nick Starai, NMI vice president of product development. "Not only have we created a turnkey EMV chip card solution for SMBs, we've launched a fully functional EMV SDK for point-of-sale, mobile POS and software integrators."
