Triton's U.S. ATM shipments jump 21% in '05

LONG BEACH, Miss. - In 2005, Triton Systems' U.S. ATM shipments increased 21 percent, and shipments in targeted international markets also showed marked improvement from 2004, Triton president Brian Kett said in a March 27 news release.

The ATM manufacturer said it expects growth in shipments to continue in 2006, namely as a result of its launch of the 8100 and FT7000 series. The 8100, which includes a merchant-replenish mechanism, is designed for lower-volume retail locations. For the financial-institution market, the soon-to-be released FT7000 series is a full-function ATM designed for banking locations.

Triton shipped 20,481 ATMs worldwide in 2005, with 14,782 of those shipments representing U.S. sales. International sales increased in targeted markets, including Asia, Australia, Canada and South Africa, but worldwide shipments increased only modestly from '04 to '05

Sale of Triton's 9100 series and the RL5000 continue to fuel growth, with the 9100 maintaining its position as Triton's most popular ATM. The RL5000 is Triton's second best-selling product, because of its popularity with diverse end-markets. But 2005 also marked a year of growth for Triton's new "through the wall" models, the FT5000 and RT2000.

Despite Hurricane Katrina's impact on Triton and its staff, Kett said the year's numbers reflected strong sales growth.

"This past year was a tremendous year for Triton," he said. "Even though 2005 brought us many challenges, with the help and dedication of our sales partners and with the resilience of our employees, we were able to end the year with numerous successes, many of which exceeded our own expectations."
