LONG BEACH, Miss. -- Triton's newest ATM, a PC-based unit called the 9800, will make its public debut this week at Thomson Financial's 6th Annual ATM Conference Oct. 3-5 in New Orleans.
As reported on ATMmarketplace.com from Triton's Distributor Conference in May (see Triton throws a curve with new ATMs), the 9800's features include a 12.1-inch LCD screen that can be customized by the ATM owner using an optional software toolkit and a standard 80mm thermal graphics printer that allows the printing of customized receipts and coupons in both portrait and landscape modes using any Windows-compatible fonts or graphics.
The 9800 Series is also compatible with Triton Connect to allow downloading of graphics and remote terminal monitoring.
Triton, a wholly-owned operating company of Dover Corporation, consulted with members of the disabled community while developing the 9800. Based on their feedback concerning existing and proposed Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, the 9800 offers an audio port as a standard feature and can perform private audio transactions using text-to-speech synthesis.
"Triton is committed to working with the disabled community to provide improved ATM accessibility, even beyond existing ADA requirements," said Triton President and Chief Executive Officer Ernest Burdette.
The 9800 can be outfitted with optional top-mounted monitors for full-motion video (FMV) advertising capability or with sidecars for applications such as depository and check cashing. Sidecars may also include a large format printer and a dispenser for vending specialty items such as stamps and money orders, according to a Triton news release.
Running under Microsoft Windows 2000, the 9800's integrated processor offers enhanced management features including support for a virtually unlimited number of languages. An optional EMV smart card reader makes it compliant with international smart card requirements.
