Triton responds to media reports about ATM-business closure

July 22, 2008

LONG BEACH, Miss. — News reports issued this morning by The Associated Press about Dover Corp.'s plans to close its ATM-manufacturing business, Triton Systems, have been amended, Triton announced this afternoon in a news release.

"We want to take this opportunity to let our customers know that reports by the media that Dover, Triton's parent company, is closing Triton are false," said Triton president and chief executive Bill Johnson. "Dover has no plans to close Triton."

Confusion stemmed from a sentence in Dover's second-quarter earnings release that stated Dover planned to discontinue its Triton business.

Dover has moved the Triton business to discontinued operations until Triton sells, which is expected to happen in the "near future."
