Triton recognized for ATM industry contribution

March 19, 2007

ORLANDO, Fla. - Triton Systems was honored by the ATM Industry Association during its Conference East for opening its proprietary message format, Triton Standard, to the industry.

ATMIA's Best Contribution to the Industry award was given because of Triton's willingness to make the standard available to other ATM manufacturers free of charge.

"On the surface, opening Triton Standard to competitors may seem an unusual move," said Bill Jackson, Triton's vice president of research and development. "However, by offering Triton Standard at no charge, it benefits the industry as a whole and benefits Triton through increased brand recognition and enhanced reputation as an innovator and worldwide retail ATM leader."

Other ATMIA award winners included the ATM's inventor John Shepherd-Barron, who received ATMIA's Lifetime Achievement Award; Lana Harmelink, ATMIA's international director of operations, who received Best Contribution to the Industry award; and Charlie Woodhead, manager of Link Interchange Network Ltd.'s fraud detection unit, who received ATMIA's Best Contributor to ATM Security award.
