RESTON, Va. - Avantel, Mexico's leading IP-based telecommunications services provider has signed an alliance with Transaction Network Services Inc. to provide cohesive network-transaction solutions to Mexican debit, credit and ATM processors.
According to a news release, the alliance marks the first POS agreement for TNS's Latin American operations.
"For the first time, Mexican debit, credit and ATM processors will have a reliable alternative to outsource their communication services," said Miguel Calderon, executive vice president of Avantel.
The new solution, called Avantel TNS, will merge Avantel's telecommunications infrastructure with TNS's POS technology and expertise in secure network transactions. The combined solution provides the processor with management tools and information to be more competitive and merchant-friendly.
"The alliance is the perfect platform for both companies to play in the transaction-services arena with world-class products," said Jack McDonnell, chairman and chief executive officer, TNS. "All international TNS customers may take advantage of this infrastructure to be able to transport Mexican-originated transactions to the U.S., Europe or Asia, and vice versa."
