Mississauga, Ontario-based Threshold Financial Technologies Inc., an ATM managed services provider, and Ficanex Ltd., manager of The Exchange Network, have partnered to offer a new off-premises ATM co-branding program for FIs. The ATM Partner Program allows Exchange member banks to broaden their brand presence without incurring additional ATM capital expenditure, operating expenses and administrative overhead.
Threshold, a subsidiary of The Brink's Company, is the central switch provider for The Exchange Network, which comprises nearly 200 financial institutions and 2,500 ATMs across Canada.
ATM Partner Program machines are co-branded by The Exchange Network and the FI placing the unit. The ATMs offer surcharge-free ATM access — for cash withdrawal and other services, besides — to all Exchange member cardholders across Canada. The program is open to all members, regardless of transaction processing provider.
G&F Financial Group of British Columbia was the first FI to implement the ATM Partner Program, cobranding three ATMs for the City of Burnaby.
"G&F is very pleased with the ATM Partner Program, which allows us to increase our presence and create awareness of our brand, while at the same time, provide members within the City of Burnaby with convenient access to additional surcharge-free ATMs," said Bobby Dhillon, vice president of marketing at G&F.
"Threshold and Ficanex Services are both committed to providing innovative services to the financial institutions we serve," said Threshold president Matthew McIver. "By offering the ATM Partner Program, we provide participants an economical way to expand their self-service network, while also increasing the number of Exchange ATMs, making surcharge-free access to funds more widely available to Canadians."
