A Scranton, Pa.-area man was charged this week with fraudulently withdrawing $7,200 from an ATM last December after depositing empty envelopes into the machine.
According to an article by The Scranton Times-Tribune, Joshua Langston, 37, fed two envelopes into a Fidelity Deposit and Discount Bank ATM, keying in deposit amounts of $3,900 and $3,400. The following morning, Langston withdrew $7,200 from the account before the fraud was discovered.
Then, at another Fidelity location, Langston made another "deposit" of $5,100, the Times-Tribune said, but this time, the fraud was discovered before he could make a withdrawal.
