Texas CU turns over ATM fleet management to Dolphin Debit

April 22, 2014

Community Resource Credit Union of Baytown, Texas, a $320 million CU serving 20,000 active debit cardholders, has entered into a multi-year agreement with Dolphin Debit, a full-service ATM management provider, to take ownership of its ATM fleet.

Dolphin Debit will replace and upgrade the CU's existing ATMs to ensure full compliance with Windows 7 and EMV chip technology requirements. Dolphin will also provide ongoing turnkey ATM management and service for the credit union's 19 ATMs.

community resource credit union dolphin debit atmDolphin Debit has been managing off-premises ATMs for Community Resource since 2006, and helped the CU establish an ATM presence in the community at key locations such as Murphy USA gas stations adjacent to Walmart stores.

The new agreement between the partners brings the management of the credit union's ATMs under one company, with Dolphin the sole provider of ATM services.

"With an aging ATM fleet and the ongoing regulatory changes, we decided to get out of the ATM management business," said David Frazier, president and CEO of Community Resource Credit Union. "By turning everything over to Dolphin we saved hundreds of thousands in capital expenses, reducing the cost of providing ATM services to our members."

"This agreement will give the credit union a consistent level of service across its ATMs, while ensuring all of its ATMs are compliant," said Ben Allen, president of Dolphin Debit.
