Texas bank to go 24/7 with video teller service

April 3, 2014

Two of the markets served by FirstCapital Bank of Texas are heavily vested in the energy and health care industries — both reliant on round-the-clock shift workers. The FI saw video teller technology as a way to serve its customers who work shifts outside of traditional banking hours.

Based in West Texas and the Texas Panhandle, FirstCapital Bank of Texas is a community bank holding $810 million in assets and serving the cities of Amarillo, Lubbock and Midland, a news release from NCR said.

FirstCapital worked with NCR Corp. and NCR financial services solutions partner FTSI to make APTRA Interactive Teller technology available to the FI's customers on a 24/5 basis. Service will soon extend to 24/7 availability, FirstCapital CEO Brad Burgess said in the release.

The FI currently operates 10 interactive teller units at its branches, with machines situated in both lobbies and drive-throughs. FirstCapital remote teller associates work out of the Lubbock, Texas branch and can support customers at any of the locations.

"FirstCapital is a terrific example of how interactive teller is helping transform customer service in local communities," said Jed Taylor, general manager of NCR interactive services. "The people in West Texas and the panhandle need more than traditional banker's hours, and FirstCapital is using the efficiency and convenience of technology to deliver banking service when and where their customers need it."
