Talaris, a cash-handling technology company, has introduced MultiMech, a two-denomination banknote-dispensing machine for the U.S. ATM industry.
ATM employees can deposit 1,000 banknotes of one denomination into the upper tray of MultiMech's tower configuration, said Pamela Welch, Talaris marketing manager. The lower tray can hold up to 1,700 banknotes of another denomination, Welch said.
MultiMech's large cash-holding capacity makes it ideal for ATMs deployed in retail outlets, she added. "It [MultiMech] is ideal for the U.S. market where cash is king," Welch said.
The company's engineers also equipped MultiMech with Intelligent Double Detection, which detects when two bank notes that have stuck together are being dispensed, Welch said.
Talaris is based in Basingstoke, England.
