Talaris appoints Paul Heiden as chairman

June 24, 2009

LISLE, Ill. — Talaris Inc., formerly De La Rue Cash Systems Inc., has named Paul Heiden to the newly created position of company chairman. Heiden most recently served as chief executive of international engineering group FKI PLC.

According to a news release, Heiden, 52, is a Chartered Accountant who has extensive experience from senior finance and management positions at Mercury Communications, Hanson PLC and Rolls-Royce PLC. He also was a non-executive director of Bunzl PLC, from 1998 to 2005, and of Filtrona PLC, from 2005 to 2006. He is currently a non-executive director of United Utilities Group PLC, where he chairs the audit and treasury committees.

"We are delighted to have Paul joining us in the role of chairman — an appointment that is welcomed by the whole of our management team," said Talaris CEO Tracey Graham. "Paul's deep experience across finance, engineering and manufacturing, for example, are an ideal fit for our business profile and we look forward to working closely with him and benefiting from the contributions he will bring."

Talaris was formed as a result of the sale of the majority of the De La Rue Cash Systems business, via a management-led buyout supported by private equity group Carlyle. The business commenced operations on Sept. 1, 2008, and has continued to demonstrate its leadership as a dedicated expert in the cash management marketplace for the last nine months.
