T-Mobile teams with ClickSwitch to simplify customer account migration

April 30, 2019

ClickSwitch Holdings Inc. has announced that T-Mobile US Inc. will incorporate ClickSwitch software that makes it easier for a customer to migrate bill payments and direct deposits from an old bank account to a new one.

Minneapolis-based ClickSwitch has signed approximately 300 financial institutions over the past two years, but T-Mobile is the first nationally marketed provider to use its technology, according to a report by the Minneapolis StarTribune.

T-Mobile announced the long-awaited launch of its banking service, called T-Mobile Money, on April 18. T-Mobile Money charges no fees for monthly service, overdraft, transfers or other services, and provides free ATM access through the Cardtronics-owned Allpoint network, which operates nationwide.

By automating the process of moving bill payments and direct deposit to a new account through ClickSwitch, T-Mobile removes one of the chief pain points of changing banks and offers potential customers further inducement to try its banking platform.

Indeed, ClickSwitch told the StarTribune that the company has seen "tremendous volume" in the weeks since the launch of T-Mobile Money.
