SAN FRANCISCO - Swipe USA, a Bay area ATM management firm, selected the Transaction Network Services Inc.'s ATMLink solution, which the company expects to pilot in San Francisco locations within the next 30 days.
"ATMLink provides both the merchant and ATM manager greater flexibility, resulting in better customer service," said Kent Phillips, vice president self-service solutions for TNS.
According to a news release, TNS will enable Swipe to expand its ATM offerings with faster machines powered by high-speed wireless communication. The partnership also opens up merchant placement flexibility of placements for merchants to place the ATM anywhere in the store.
"We're pleased to partner with TNS and expand the range of our ATM services," said Swipe USA chief executive Ron Christensen. "After we complete the pilot program, we expect to deploy high-speed wireless at all of our ATMs nationwide by 2007."
Swipe provides full-service ATMs at consumer-accessible locations, such as Metreon, Burger King, Mel's Diner and Planet Juice franchises across the nation. The firm also is expanding throughout the West Coast.
