Swedish ATM operator Kontanten signs for service with Wincor Nixdorf

November 25, 2008

PADERBORN, Germany — Wincor Nixdorf AG will now provide service for 240 ATMs owned and operated by Swedish independent ATM operator Kontanten.

According to a news release, the three-year deal includes services for everything from classic ATM maintenance to remote real-time monitoring.

Kontanten maintains ATM installations in Finland, as well as in all of Sweden's largest cities and is fully independent of other financial institutions.

All of the ATMs will now be linked remotely to Wincor Nixdorf's system management center, which performs 24/7 real-time monitoring including prompt trouble ticketing and remote maintenance. Wincor Nixdorf will also be handling software implementation and distribution of software updates.

Monitoring and administration are handled by the Wincor Nixdorf eServices Platform, which is geared to the special needs of all self-service systems. Its function array includes remote diagnostics and status reports for all connected systems. The information that eServices Platform processes is used to maintain maximum availability and optimize network performance, Wincor Nixdorf says.

Kontanten's ATM systems are connected through an ADSL-based network in Sweden and a GPRS-based network in Finland. The services provided over the network are monitoring, administration, transactions, alarm to the security company and third-party advertising functions.
