SURVEY: Consumers put spotlight on interchange
February 14, 2007
Digital Transactions: Results from a survey conducted by a merchant lobbying group indicate that 94 percent of consumers agree that card networks should be required to reveal how much interchange they collect. Some 93 percent say the networks should be required to tell consumers how the pricing is determined, and 91 percent agree that Congress should take action to require the networks to be more open about their interchange fees.
