STUDY: Australian consumers share banks' determination to keep ATM channel secure

More and more consumers around the world are taking ATM security seriously. Research conducted for NCR Corp. in Australia found that four out of five ATM users now take security precautions to protect themselves against ATM fraud.

Banks in Australia are launching new anti-skimming technology, dubbed "jitter," to deter ATM fraud.

The announcement comes on the heels of a national survey that discovered ATM users use precautions to protect themselves from fraud when using the ATM. The survey, conducted by Galaxy Research for NCR Corp. Australia, found that 92 percent of ATM users sfeel more secure when using ATMs installed anti-skimming devices.
