Source Technologies, a provider of integrated solutions for financial transactions and secure business processes, has added mobile wallet acceptance and tablet assistance to its 8-Series personal teller machine. The self-service retail banking kiosk automates 80–90 percent of teller transactions, the company says.
With the addition of NFC capability, customers can now simply tap their smartphone on the machine's near field communication device to conduct a transaction. The PTM supports mobile wallets from Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, and others, the company said.
The personal teller machine also has added tablet assistance capability to accommodate a "universal bankier" model in which an FI's staff can step in and operate the kiosk via tablet, if required.
"With our personal teller machine, consumers are empowered to conduct their own transactions, but still have the ability to quickly receive assistance if needed," said Source Technologies CEO Keith Hamilton.
"[O]ur mobile wallet integration takes that modern banking experience just one step further. Mobile wallets have quickly become a widely accepted form of payment — both by retailers and consumers — so financial institutions must keep up with consumers' demands and expectations for mobile wallet acceptance in all aspects of their everyday lives, including banking."
