October 25, 2009
The Thermal Printer Division of Seiko Instruments USA Inc. and Arrow Electronics Inc. have partnered for distribution and services in the Americas.
According to a news release from Seiko Instruments, Arrow's OEM Computing Solutions group will provide engineering, integration and logistics services, while Seiko Instruments provides its kiosk printers, mobile printers, and thermal printer mechanisms. The agreement is expected to benefit manufacturers and integrators in the kiosk, ATM, medical device markets, as well as those in the industrial and test and measurement instrumentation markets.
Kaz Onishi, vice president and general manager of Seiko Instruments USA says the combination of the two companies' offerings is a win-win:
Arrow offers very high caliber outsourcing capabilities and a robust lineup of complementary technologies. Arrow can support the full gamut of customers, from small integrators to multi-national OEMs.
The agreement gives Arrow customers access to Seiko Instruments' thermal printers, which have been designed and tested to boost reliability, streamline integration, and improve the user experience, Seiko says. Arrow's OEM Computing Solutions group offers OEMs and integrators the ability to scale their businesses, speed time-to-market, and reduce operational costs with services and support throughout the product lifecycle.
Arrow's capabilities include product design, prototype development, compliance, documentation, manufacturing and integration, logistics, post sales services, and financing. The distributor operates state-of-the-art, value-added and logistics centers in the United States, Mexico, China and Hungary.
