QATAR-- Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and NCR Corporation are partnering to deploy an ATM network in then tiny Arab country.
According to a release, the network will give QIB branches and off-site locations the capability to provide services such as bill payment, Web advertising and smart-card applications via the self-service channel.
"We have over 30 ATMs across the country and soon we will have over 100 machines ... ." said chairman and managing director of QIB, Khalid Bin Ahmad Al-Sowaidi.
QIB will deploy NCR's Personas 70, Personas 75, Personas 86 and Personas 88 ATMs across Qatar. The bank will be among the first banks in the region to deploy the latest cash and check automated-deposit solutions, as well as Web kiosks that comply with Triple DES and EMV Level 1 standards.
