Planfocus software, Wincor Nixdorf to share cash management know-how

Planfocus CPTO software will undergo further development to tie it in with key software products from Wincor Nixdorf.

December 16, 2014

Wincor Nixdorf, a provider of IT solutions for retail banks and retailers, and planfocus software, a company that develops software to manage the cash supply chain, have announced their intention to enter into a strategic partnership.

The partnership is aimed at pooling and globally marketing the cash logistics software expertise of the two companies, according to a press release.

To this end, planfocus CPTO software, which already is used in banks, will undergo further development to tie it in with key software products from Wincor Nixdorf.

Banks, cash-in-transit operators and retailers use the CPTO solution from planfocus to optimize their cash provisioning processes and maximize cash planning accuracy, the release said. The software is CashEDI certified and is currently used to manage a cash-in-transit order volume of more than 100 billion euros ($125 billion) annually.

The enhanced product will be offered under the new name PC/E Cash Cycle Optimizer, and will be used to provide Wincor Nixdorf managed cash services. It will be integrated with PC/E omnichannel server software from Wincor, as well as ProView, the company's software for remote monitoring and IT management.

"Cash management solutions are an important element of Wincor Nixdorf's portfolio, as they perfectly support and complement the company's branch transformation offerings," said Stefan Wahle, head of banking software at Wincor Nixdorf. "Through this alliance, we are consistently implementing our strategy of generating growth by expanding our software business in a focused manner and are attaching a best-of-breed solution to our PC/E software platform."
