Paytm launches mobile bill-payment service in Canada

New Delhi-based Paytm, has launched its bill-payment service in Canada, making it the first Indian company to debut such a service in the Great White North.

Paytm users in Canada can use the Paytm Canada app to pay bills for services such as mobile, cable, internet, electricity and water. Consumers can also use the app, available for both Android and iOS, to pay for insurance and property taxes, according to multiple media reports.

Paytm Founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma and Toronto Mayor John Tory made the Paytm Canada announcement in India. Paytm has a lab division in Toronto and has been working on the app for the past two years.
