Paragon's Dana Blegen earns smart-card certification

Dana Blegen, product support manager for Paragon Application Systems, has earned the Certified Smart Card Industry Professional Certification from the Smart Card Alliance, the company announced in a news release.
Blegen is now part of a select group of industry professionals who have demonstrated expertise in Smart Card technology.
As Product Support Manager for Paragon, Blegen is responsible for supporting e-payment implementations in a wide variety of settings. Dana has accumulated extensive knowledge of integrated chip cards (also known as smart cards) and the EMV financial-message specifications for debit and credit chip-based cards.
"The CSCIP certification gave me the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of EMV and Smart Card technology from card manufacturing to issuing — including identity, transportation, ePayments, NFC and encryption," Blegen said. "I look forward to working with customers on their EMV smart card implementations for contact, contactless or near field communication (NFC)."
