Outsourcing check-imaging, processing increases bank branch efficiency
October 26, 2008
NORTH CANTON, Ohio — With an outsourcing solution powered by ImageWay, Diebold Inc. is helping Kleberg First National Bank of Kingsville, Texas, to streamline check imaging and processing at 11 of its branches in southern Texas.
According to a news release, the solution adds efficiencies to check handling and processing and assists employees in more effectively meeting end-of-day reconciliation deadlines.
Kleberg First National is using ImageWay to lower transportation costs through electronic-check transmission to Diebold's central processing site, where all data compilation takes place. And ImageWay's remote deposit capture technology allows the bank to offer business customers enhanced deposit capabilities.
"We're strategically widening our footprint and, as we do, it was important for us to expand our technological capabilities," said Chip Collins, senior vice president of Kleberg First National Bank.
Diebold's ImageWay uses a secure, browser-based system with image-capture software and hardware. Processing and clearing checks electronically allows for same-day or next-day credit to customer accounts.
Kleberg First National also is increasing its service offerings through implementing ImageWay's remote deposit capture at the commercial level, which enables check deposits to be made directly from a merchant's place of business. Commercial customers can scan checks and transmit the scanned images over an encrypted Internet connection to the financial institution, where the deposit is accepted, validated, recorded and processed.
