OT wins Discover certification for dual interface EMV chip cards

Oberthur Technologies, a provider of embedded security software products and services, has announced that its dual EMV payment cards have been certified by Discover in accordance with that company's D-Payment application specification version 1.1.

Certification means that these cards can be used worldwide across the Discover Network, Diners Club International, Pulse and affiliated networks, according to a press release.

OT's Discover-certified EMV dual interface payment cards can be used to make payments simply by tapping them against a contactless terminal.

Other functionalities, such as transport, micropayment or access control, can accompany Discover's payment functionalities, the company said.
