Oki Electric Industry Co. has partnered with Lipi Data Systems Ltd. to produce ATMs for the Indian market. It will provide 500 machines monthly initially, with plans to increase production to 1,000 per month, according to a press release.
OKI first began selling ATMs in India in 2013. Now, Lipi will help provide its technical expertise and networks in the country to introduce local production of environmentally friendly ATMs, according to the release.
"Collaboration with a Japanese company holds great significance for us. Through our partnership with OKI, we hope to contribute to technological innovation and job creation in India, while delivering new value to the market," Sameer Singhal, managing director of Lipi, said in the release.
