According to Vanguard.com, the number of ATM cardholders in Nigeria has reached 10 million, as announced by Interswitch's director of payment and business expansion, Charles Ifedi.
The announcement came during the commencement of the Verve Card national promotion, a campaign that Ifedi says will continue to contribute to the number of ATM cards in circulation.
Interswitch is collaborating with banks to push its Verve promo, which offers cardholders rewards when they renew their cards or use them for ATM, POS, web and mobile.
According to the article, the introduction of the cashless society policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria is further encouragement for bank customers to use Verve cards because the Verve promo assists the CBN policy by allowing use across several payment channels.
