Nexxo debuts 'Bank-in-a-Box' ATM

April 12, 2012

"Bank-in-a-Box" from Nexxo Financial Corp. received kudos last month when the multifunction, multichannel K3000 ATM made its debut at ATMIA US 2012, CFSA 2012 and the Prepaid Expo, said Nexxo in a company press release.

"Attendees told us they were amazed to see Nexxo's K3000 combine services that have never been offered together," said Nexxo CEO and co-founder David Alvarez "We had overwhelming interest in our solution from a variety of industry segments."

With a one-time registration, Bank-in-a-Box users can cash checks, buy money orders, load prepaid cards, pay bills, send money, top up phone minutes and withdraw cash.

Once registered, the customer can swipe a Nexxo card or enter a PIN, select a function from the multilingual touchscreen, complete the transaction and walk away with a receipt — all in less than one minute, Alvarez said.

The user-friendly Nexxo interface guides customers through transactions with ease and discloses all fees upfront. The terminal connects directly via phone to an in-house, U.S.-based call center, so consumers can access live customer care in both English and Spanish, said Mitch DeShields, Nexxo chief technology officer, in the release.

"The customer experience at the kiosk drives the technology rather than the other way around," DeShields said. "We've focused on how to make life easier for customers."
