New Axis surveillance cameras combine enhanced image quality, affordable price

November 3, 2016

Axis Communications, a provider of network video, has updated its P32 Series, a range of affordable cameras that provide outstanding image quality in any light conditions, according to a press release.

New offerings in the series combine the company's Lightfinder technology, which delivers optimal light sensitivity with color video even in poor light conditions, and WDR-forensic capture technology, which provides exceptional image detail in both dark and bright areas of a scene.

Many of the new Mk II models have built-in near infrared illuminators that allow the capture of high-quality video in total darkness.

The Axis P32 Series includes dust- and IK08 impact-resistant indoor models, as well as weather- and IK10 impact-resistant outdoor models.

All models feature day and night functionality and support P-Iris control for optimal image clarity and depth of field. A varifocal lens with remote zoom and focus capabilities allows the deployer to adjust the field of view to a specific area of interest.

The eight new models support Axis' Zipstream technology, which reduces bandwidth and storage requirements. They also support edge storage, hosted video and the Axis camera application platform.

The Mk II models are compatible with accessories and spare parts for existing Axis P32s, the release said.
