NCR Corp. has entered an agreement with Sparkasse KölnBonn, Germany's largest municipal savings bank, to modernize the FI's ATM fleet with NCR SelfServ systems and provide installation and NCR Second Line Maintenance services.
The company has begun installation of 74 indoor/outdoor NCR SelfServ 26 cash-dispense ATMs with integrated anti-skimming technology, said a news release. The ATM replacement project will be completed by this autumn.
NCR is responsible for the complete management of the replacement project. This allows the company to get a head-start on deployment, pre-installing the NCR SelfServ systems in the bank's central warehouse, and connecting each unit to the data center for testing.
The company can then deliver an operational system to the site. Time required for software installation time is reduced from about three-and-a-half hours to 10 minutes.
"We are delighted to have earned the trust of the second largest savings bank in Germany because of our innovative technology and excellent know-how," said Harald Heinz, area industry leader for financal services at NCR, with responsibility for the DACH region. "The savings bank and its customers will profit from maximum uptime and security thanks to our self-service systems and the services we provide."
